Back to Home

I am an advanced student midwife working  towards NARM certification and licensure in the state of Virginia.  I am also an ALACE (Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators) certified Doula and Childbirth Educator.

I have been married to my husband, Steve, for 18 years and am a Christian homeschooling mother to 10 children--ages 18, 15, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6,  4,  2, and 1 month.  I have given birth six times in the hospital and four times at home with the assistance of a midwife (the last homebirth being a waterbirth).  I am a firm believer in breastfeeding and have nursed each one of my children.

Aside from Life's Little Blessings Birth Services, I teach two classes (Childbirth series and Breastfeeding) at the Blue Ridge Women's Center in Roanoke.

My hobbies include reading, spending time with my family, and staying involved with my home church, Parkway Wesleyan.

I offer unconditional support to the mother in the decisions she makes, whether she births at home or in the hospital, medicated or non-medicated, etc.

Whatever the choices, my goal is to assist her in having her best birth experience possible.

I believe that the birth process is a natural event, designed perfectly by God, and that women can enjoy giving birth!

I recognize that it is through education and her informed decision making that she has the ability to make many active and positive contributions to the memories which will remain with her forever.

May God richly bless your expanding family!
